2.0 V6 CONVERTION TO 2.8 V6

  • Hi all in the last day I am having a crazy idea:converting my 2.0 V6 engine into a 2.8.

Anyone here have any experience about it?

Should it possible? On ebay USA I can find bigger pistons and a 2.8 crankcase too.

I can find also largest inlet and outlet valves, racing shiftcase.

Is not so difficult founding Weber 38 DGAS carbs and 2.8 inlet manifold also.

Just I dont know if if it possible.

    Anyone can help me?

    Thanks

    Salvatore

  • yeah I would (and did) prefer a easy engine swap.
It's like plug and play if you have a V6 and change it for another V6.

  • Yes i know it would be easy and faster swapping he engine but almost impossible for italian laws.
again I can find it a bigger engine size,I should come to Germany or to Uk to find out a new one.
I bought my car in Belgium because in Italy i Can find just 1.3,1.6 or a rare 2.0 but all them 4 cilynders.

  • Nobody ever tried this. Simply because of not being confronted with such legislation......

Yor're talking about hiding 2,8Ltr components inside a 2,0Ltr core? Increasing the bore from 84mm to 93mm? That's 9mm more than your engine currently has. I bet that would bring you well into the water-channels.

New cylinder-barrels might be an option, but to be honest, if engines aren't your daily business, it's not an option for you. ;(

  • hi!
    I do same.
But not only motor swap, I swap rear axle and gearbox.
And engine litrage and HP in car docs no changed. (same problem with officialy change or swap motor)
Motor type only defined by the letter on the block right nearby ign. distributor (expt. 2.3 2.6 - same letter).
