hi!

which usable method of fixing balls and washers , when assembling automatic g.b.?
as I understand that this should be something like a thick oil, which is tolerant to gear box oil.
what should I use? propose to use litol or petroleum jelly... (I suspect it is better to let mechanics themselves smear something...)

it does not lead to negative reactions with oil?

here is also vaseline, but this name is connected with three different lubricants types.
all of them have one roots, but have but have differences in the composition (tech: normal or silicone, and medical).
this is source of many technical & mechanical jokes, need to keep ears open ;)
